Town Hall Meeting: Combating Human Trafficking and Modern-day Slavery in Ohio and Globally

April 19, 2010, 7p.m., Ohio State University, Student Union Performance Hall, 1739 N. High Street

Join fellow citizens to dialogue with policy-makers and leading experts on the crisis of human trafficking and modern day slavery.  What does the problem look like in Ohio and internationally? What can we do to stop it?

State Senator Teresa Fedor (D-Toledo)

Senator Fedor is currently serving her second term in the Ohio Senate after eighteen years as an elementary school teacher in the Toledo Public Schools. Last year Senator Fedor sponsored Ohio’s first anti-trafficking legislation. Most recently, Senator Fedor’s Human Trafficking legislation was signed into law by Governor Ted Strickland. The legislation created a Trafficking in Persons Study Commission of which she will be an instrumental part, which made recommendations to the Governor and Legislature on the problem of Human Trafficking in Ohio.
